WFR Recert: April 3-5, 2011

The WMI of NOLS Wilderness First Responder training program is a nationally recognized program that trains participants to respond to emergencies in remote settings. This three-day scenario-based Wilderness First Responder Recertification (WFR Recert) course is designed as review and practice of evacuation and decision-making guidelines. Topics include patient assessment, wound management, realigning fractures and dislocations, improvised splinting techniques, and environmental emergencies. Students will receive current updates in the wilderness medicine field that are critical to the proper assessment and treatment of injuries and illnesses. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a two-year WMI of NOLS Wilderness First Responder certification and a two-year WMI of NOLS adult CPR certification.

WMI will recertify any student holding a valid and current WFR certification card from a WFR course of at least 72 hours.  WMI WFRs may recertify with an expired WFR card if they are in their grace period (not more than 1 year past expiration date printed on card).
